‘’Learning within your field of study is one thing – but combine that with the ability to communicate, and you stand out and can go much further. There have been so many occasions where being able to speak in front of a crowd has brought me opportunities I wouldn’t have otherwise had as a student, including giving a TEDx talk and flying to Italy to present at a conference. Toastmasters has also been the perfect place to improve my leadership skills, and try things out in a safe environment. Looking back, that has made a difference as I now start my career. What makes Toastmasters unique is the ability to start small yet in a practical way and grow from there. I am also grateful for all the supportive people I have met here, who all want to improve and help. It’s a great atmosphere.’’
